Three slots, and a clock that has two halves

The board carries a maximum of three tasks. That cap is why letting tasks rot is expensive: a full board of stale commissions blocks new ones from appearing, and the board only ever adds one task per refresh.

The important mechanic is that the display timer and the task timer are separate. An unclaimed task is shown for five in-game days and then vanishes. Once you accept it, a completely different countdown starts — the deadline attached to that commission. Sitting on an unclaimed task does not eat into the time you get to finish it, so there is no penalty for accepting late beyond the risk of losing the task entirely.

The difficulty words on the board map directly onto that post-claim deadline rather than onto how hard the objective is. Urgent means 24 hours. Moderate means 48. Relaxed means 72 or more. The full range the game draws from is 24 to 168 hours, so a relaxed task can be worth a week of real planning.

Every in-game day at 06:00 the board updates in one pass: unclaimed tasks lose one of their five display days, anything expired is cleared out, and every second day one new task is generated if there is a free slot. That is at most one new task per update, so a board emptied all at once takes several days to refill.

Where Orlando actually is

The Chinese wiki places the board itself on Doloc Commercial Street and notes it can be used around the clock. The English wiki describes Orlando as the head of the Doloc Guild and a sharpshooter, and puts him in the guild office upstairs in Zenis Tavern for most of the working day — roughly 08:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 20:00, with a lunch break down in the tavern itself and an evening walk on Commercial Street from 20:00 to 22:00.

Both can be true at once: the board is public furniture and Orlando is a person with a schedule. But if you are looking for him specifically rather than for the board, check the guild office above the tavern first. He also spends Thursday afternoons in the mayor's office and Friday lunchtimes at the mountains cliff.

If you are working on him socially as well, his birthday is Harsh Dry 07 and the English wiki lists Tomato and Watermelon as loved gifts and the Simple Launcher as liked.

Reading the reward list

Commissions are grouped by who is asking, and the reward is fixed per commission rather than scaled to difficulty. Most cash rewards land between 200 and 700 G, which makes them poor as a primary income source next to fishing — the table below is more useful as a way to decide which requests are worth the detour while you are already out gathering.

The exception is worth calling out: the Lamp Man's Legendary Fish commission asks for a single Shining Golden Fish and pays 2,000 G, the largest single payout on the board.

Several commissions pay in materials rather than cash, and those are frequently the better deal. Merlin's Iron-Coloured Legend hands over five Large Mechanical Scrap for five Iron OreIron OreA metal ore refined into Iron Ingots for stronger equipment and buildings., and Feilian's Crop Exchange turns five Chinese Cabbage into five Wax AppleWax AppleA regrowing crop used in the hovercraft exchange. Tree Seeds — both convert cheap farm output into things you would otherwise have to go and find.
